The Cavalrymen of Hadrian’s Wall

Anderson directed and wrote this short film for the mobile exhibition Minerva and Leach were creating for Hadrian’s Wall and specifically their Turma (large Roman military show) event.
This short film explored how the soldiers became Cavalrymen, from when they were chosen as boys, to how they trained and then how they prepared for a Turma.

I wanted to also show the soldiers had a brother-like bond whilst carrying out their duty. We used both film and a silhouetted animation style. This project was filmed in 1 day using Roman Reenactors who have worked on major TV shows and Hollywood films.
